Sweet Poison in Your Food

If you suffer from strange, seemingly unrelated symptoms and neither you nor your doctors can figure out what's going on, you may want to take a look at the foods in your cupboard and fridge.

Your symptoms could be related to the artificial sweetener, aspartame. Unlike a food allergy or intolerance, the symptoms of aspartame poisoning are a result of consuming a toxic chemical.

What are the common symptoms of aspartame poisoning?

There are 92 different symptoms related to aspartame poisoning. The most common being Lupus, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, retinopathy, arthritis, attention deficit disorder, birth defects and panic disorder.

So, what's in aspartame that can cause such a severe reaction?

Aspartame is made up of three components: 50% phenylalanine (a neurotoxin), 40% aspartic acid and 10% methanol (wood alcohol) which breaks down into an embalming fluid (formaldehyde) when ingested.

Why hasn't the FDA banned aspartame from use?

Europeans have forbidden the use of aspartame in all children's products and it is banned completely in Japan. Why not in the US and Canada? In a word, money. The makers of Nutrasweet, Equal and Sweet N Low don't want to lose customers so they pay off the FDA to keep mum about it's terrible side-effects.

Great. I love soda. What am I supposed to drink now?

I drink spritzers from RW Knudsen and Essn. Both are natural and do not contain aspartame or high fructose corn syrup.

Are you getting paid to endorse these natural spritzers?

Nope. I'm just glad they're available.

Okay. What do I put in my coffee now?

Stevia, Agave and Fructose sugars are natural alternatives to aspartame.

So, now what?

If you're suffering from strange symptoms or autoimmune disease, become a label-reader and cut aspartame out of your diet. (Aspartame is most commonly found in diet food and soft drinks.) Once you've banned aspartame from your diet, cleanse your body thoroughly by eating whole, organic foods, drinking plenty of pure water, bathing in Epsom salt (provided you're not diabetic, pregnant or allergic to  sulfur), dry skin brushing and plenty of rest.

It is important to keep in mind that the most effective way of healing from disease is locating and getting rid of the source, not simply masking symptoms.
